Series ii: no man is a failure who has friends
This project was a collaboration with fellow creative and friend Donnie Zhou, one of the most talented visual storytellers we know. When Donnie approached us with the title and concept already in place, “Series II: No man is a failure who has friends”, we knew it would be something special.
Set in a gritty gym environment, the story centers around the emotional weight that often comes with high-level training. It begins in isolation, focusing on the internal struggle of the athlete: exhausted, alone, and on the edge of breaking. The visuals are quiet but heavy, letting the body language and pacing carry the emotion.
The presence of the coach enters slowly, not as a savior, but as a steady presence. Someone who knows when to step in and when to hold back. The trainer doesn’t speak. He just shows up - and eventually, that’s what makes the difference. The final moments bring a quiet sense of connection and support, captured with restraint and honesty.
This project was more than just a visual piece. It was a reminder of what this kind of work can mean when you bring trust, friendship, and shared vision to the table.
a boxer’s symphony
A Boxer’s Symphony is a visual and audible tribute to the rhythm of the fight - not in the ring, but in the quiet moments that build the foundation. Set in an empty gym, the piece opens with a written meditation:
In the quiet of an empty gym, your effort becomes music of transformation. Every punch, each breath, creating a symphony. Finding a rhythm, getting lost in the flow. In the dance of effort and stillness, discover the freedom within.
This project features Milwaukee Pro Boxer Mike Esiobu, whose physical presence and precise movement drive the tone of the entire piece. We built the video around the natural sound of his training: the rhythm of his breath, the impact of gloves on the bag, the subtle splash of sweat against the mirror. Layered over these raw textures is a cinematic score that slowly builds, mirroring the intensity and internal pace of the athlete.
What unfolds is more than a workout. It’s a moment of clarity. A reflection of how repetition becomes rhythm, and how effort becomes freedom. This is a piece made for boxers. Quiet, focused, and timeless.
